For instructions on how to assemble a cartridge box, with shoulder belt, box plate,
and eagle plate, scroll through
the following instructions and pictures.
The following photos and text provides information on how to add a cartridge box
shoulder belt to the cartridge
box.
Place the cartridge box, flap side down so that the belt and shoulder belt loops
are face up. Slide one side of
the shoulder belt, diagonally, through the loop on the back of the
cartridge box (photo 1). Run the billet (narrow
extension) through the buckle (photo 2) and secure
the extra length under the shoulder belt. Run the other side
of the shoulder belt through the remaining
loop and fasten it to the second buckle (photos 3 & 4).
Note: the smooth/waxed side of the shoulder belt also needs to be face down.

The following photos and text provides information on how to add a cartridge box
plate to the front flap of the
cartridge box.
First position the plate on the front of the flap about centered. Mark the plates position.
This can be done by
pressing the plate against the front of the box (see photo 5). Next cut slots,
in the flap for the metal loops on
the plate. Place the plate on the front of the flap, correct side up,
and push the metal loops through the slots.
Secure the plate to the flap. This can be done by pressing
the metal loops over or, as shown in photos 6 and
7, by passing a strip of leather (or other item) through
the loops. Photo 8 shows the plate after being secured
to the flap of the cartridge box.

The following photos and text provides information on how to add a cartridge box
shoulder plate (Eagle) to the
cartridge box shoulder belt.
The shoulder belt plate is secured to the shoulder belt in the same manner as the
cartridge box plate is secured
to the flap of the cartridge box. First position the plate on the
shoulder belt and mark the position of the two metal
loops. Positioning of the plate should be done
while wearing the cartridge box and shoulder belt. We prefer the plate
to be positioned as close to
the sternum (breastbone) as possible. Once its position is marked (photo 9) and the
slots are cut through
the shoulder belt it is secured on the shoulder belt just like the box plate is secured on the flap
of the
cartridge box (photos 10 and 11). Photo 12 shows the plate after being secured to the shoulder belt.
